Instructions
- Pre heat the oven to 200C Fan
- Mix the water, milk and butter and warm up in a pan until the Butter melts
- Take off the heat and set aside to cool down
- Add the fast Action yeast to the cooled down liquid and set aside for 10 minutes
- Put the dry ingredients with only half the flour to start in a large bowl or free standing mixer with a dough paddle and mix briefly on low
- Gradually pour in the the liquid mixture you have set aside
- Then start slowly adding the rest if the flour, a bit at the time as you may not need to use all the flour as it all depends on the type of flour you're using. Stop when the dough forms and gathers
-
Knead or mix for at least 5 minutes until the dough becomes flexible and stretchy
-
Set the dough aside covered in a bowl at room temperature to proof for at least an hour and until it has doubled in size
-
Divide into 12 equal parts and roll into a ball then into a sausage shape. Plait and twist as shown in the picture
- Set aside on a baking tray with parchment to rest for another 20 minutes
-
Egg wash and sprinkle with as many types of seeds (sesame, nigella, poppy) as you like or none at all!
- Bake for 10-12 minutes in a preheated oven at 200C Fan
-
Serve warm with Cream/butter and Jam
